April 30, 1979 - April 30, 2007
On April 30, 1979, Paul and his father escaped from Vietnam as boat people. This was on the 4th anniversary of the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. They arrived in the United States on December 1, 1979 without two empty hands.
He survived the tragic ordeal and built a successful life in this country for himself and his family. I am very thankful that he has done so much to help me, the Susan Polgar Foundation, the USCF and US Chess. Now, he is now committed to help US Chess even more by running in the upcoming USCF Executive Board Election.
If elected, I am 100% confident that he will be able to help the USCF:
* Restore the respectability and credibility of the USCF.
* Restore a balanced budget.
* Restore the strong cooperation between adult, collegiate, youth and scholastic chess. The USCF needs to support and promote all its membership categories.
* Recognize that the USCF is in need of Professional Marketing.
You can read more about Paul and his incredible journey in 3 segments here and here and here.

Many of us are new to USCF. Can you post something about how the voting process works? I don't want to miss my chance to vote.
